Learning Portfolios

Student Portfolios are just one way we communicate student achievement to parents and caregivers. We believe this is important because:

  • Samples of work will show a student's performance against SACSAF outcomes.
  • Samples of work will show student progress over time.
  • Samples of work collected can help identify students that require support in particular learning areas.
  • Samples of work collected can confirm that a student has understood a particular concept.
  • Samples of work collected can provide information about a student which the next teacher or school can use.
  • Samples of work can be part of celebrating success with a student.

All samples of work will be annotated by teachers indicating objectives and outcomes.

Samples will be collected for Learning Portfolios as follows:

Term 1 Term 2 Term 3 Term 4
Literacy SOSE Design Health PE
Numeracy Tech Science
Arts

Additional Samples of work and assessments can also be included in the portfolio.
These include:

  • Standardised spelling, reading and numeracy test results with yearly comparisons.
  • References to the Multiple Intelligences in portfolio samples and MI student questionnaire results (Twice Yearly)
