Welcome to Coonalpyn Primary School, Est 1889.

Coonalpyn Primary School is located in the Murraylands 160 km south east of Adelaide in the Coorong District Council Area.

Coonalpyn Primary School aims to provide each and every student with high quality educational programs.

We show that we value people by providing a consultative, accessible, caring and productive environment. We show that we value learning by providing creative and positive learning environments that enable people in the community to share our commitment. We show we value equity by providing structures and programs which ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to succeed at school.

The curriculum areas are English, Maths, Science, Technology, Society and Environment, Art, Health and P/E, Language other than English (LOTE). In recent years, the school has had Health & Wellbeing, Literacy and The Arts as focus areas. We regularly participate in special events as part of the curriculum. We also have a music program that includes Festival Choir, Flute, Clarinet and Recorder lessons.

In 2001, the Coonalpyn Kindergarten opened on site. We provide transition programs for students moving into Junior Primary and Primary classes which includes regular visits from Kindy students about to transition and meeting new parents and sharing information. We also have a weekly program where the JP students interact with the Kindy students and share a learning activity wither at school or at kindy.

The school provides all children with a safe and orderly learning environment that meets the needs of our children at all levels of their primary school life.
