Township Information

Coonalpyn is a small rural community situated on the Dukes Highway, 160 kms south east of Adelaide in the Coorong District Council area. The population of the township is approximately 500.

COONALPYN IGA Store & Post Office, Meningie Bakery, Commonwealth Bank Agency, and Coonalpyn Crafts & Nursery service the town. We have various Agricultural Agencies, a Real Estate Agent, 2 Roadhouses and 2 Motor Mechanics available.

Other facilities include the Police Station, Health Centre (serviced by doctors on Monday afternoons and Thursday), a Caravan Park and Swimming Pool. SA Water is the only Government Department.

The towns sporting activities include football, netball, basketball, tennis, golf and lawn bowls.

Our regional centre is Murray Bridge.
